The
Creative Marketing seminar was very well received, as were the
Marketing Matrix and 101 Marketing Options notes.
It's
time to gear up for Christmas and the New Year, so with that in
mind, we are holding a seminar on "How to Run an Effective
Seminar" which can do your marketing for you over the
Christmas period and delivers you your leads in the New Year!
If
you have been implementing any of the ideas and seeing results,
please let us know! Your Success is our Success!
We've
been having quite a social time between birthday and family
dinners and the Melbourne Cup 'do's'.
Until
next time
Warm
regards, Narelle and Dennis

Top Tips for Marketing via the Internet
by
Narelle Stratford & Dennis McMahon
Ah..
the internet.. the communicator's dream.. But, is it
working for you in the way that you want it to? According
to the number crunchers, the majority of the population has
access to the internet, or has a home computer. If that's
the case, are you taking advantage of today's
technology?
Update
Skills
If
you want to keep up with marketing and contact management, then
acquiring skills in computers, the internet, and email systems
has to be one of the places to start. It's our belief that
every Agent should go and do a computer course, and learn how to
use their email properly, for their own sake as well as their
clients.
TOP
10 TIPS FOR YOUR WEBSITE
Here
are ten tried and true pointers for your website (hope ours
lives up to these!):
1.
Keep your graphic rich content down, especially on the home
page, to make load time quicker. If you have graphics, then make
sure your programmes are equipped to handle them. We are a fast
paced society, and people cannot be bothered waiting for pages
to load; they move on.
2.
Generally accepted font is Arial or Verdana, usually 8pt and
10pt. It's easy on the eye, so makes reading more
enjoyable. Limit your colours and fonts - Too many can
detract from the message.
3.
Use Meta Tags in your source code as much as you can. This
will allow internet users to search for, and find your
site. Otherwise, it's a bit like publishing a magazine and
not telling anyone that it's available.
4.
Always offer Free information (such as reports), in exchange for
Subscriber information so that you build a Database through a
permission based marketing approach.
5.
Invite your visitors to become a Member and email them a monthly
newsletter.
6.
Provide further incentives with monthly competitions or
discounts, and work in with allied businesses wherever possible.
7.
Write your content using:
verbs:
"prices jumped by 10%", is a much stronger statement
than: "prices show an increase of 10%"
adverbs
- words that end in 'ly': successfully sold, superbly
presented, easily renovated, etcetera
VAKOG
sensory words - describe the senses: visual, auditory,
kinaesthetic, olfactory and gustatory! Kinaesthetic refers
to the 'feel' of something - be it emotional, textural or
intuitive; olfactory - what you can smell, and gustatory - the
taste of something. Here are some examples, and the letter
in brackets denotes the sense that may be triggered through
reading the word:
The
picture (V) window gave a breathtaking (K) view (V) of the river
by night..
The
tinkling chimes (A) on the verandah..
The
unmistakeable ambience (K) of luxury ....
Just
imagine (V) the aroma (O) of freshly ground coffee ...
Taste
(G) the sweetness of a successful buy....
The
more you stimulate the emotions via the senses, the more your
reader will engage with you and stay with you on the journey.
8.
Autoresponders are a must! If someone contacts you, they
should get an almost immediate return message from you.
These can also come in a sequential programme, where you might
inquire for some information, which I send to you (week 1),
then, I maintain contact by sending you information that follows
on every week, for the next x number of weeks.
That
builds the relationship very nicely across time, as your client
then sees you as someone with consistency and reliability.
9.
Your website should address problems that the consumer has, and
wants solved. Testimonials are a great source of solutions
for the vendor or the buyer.
10.
Your website should promote you personally, rather than the
office or franchise or marketing chain. The more your
business improves, the more those backing supports will gain a
dividend in any case. Therefore, it should be you who is
promoted for your business, not theirs.
Websites
are marvellous things, that provide information, education,
interaction and communication. It's very exciting to
receive inquiries from overseas and other Australian states, and
certainly helps to make your efforts worthwhile.

TELECLASSES We
are looking at running some Teleclasses for
subscribers on topics of your choice. What's
a Teleclass? Well,
imagine that you want to have a chat with colleagues about a
particular subject, in different offices. You could
arrange a meeting, or send emails, but both of those
alternatives have their problems. A meeting requires some
or all to travel, taking up valuable time. Emails don't
let everybody have their say when they want to. Maybe
you've been involved in a conference call or know about
them? Well, that's a bit like a Teleclass. Everybody
who wants to take part in training but doesn't want to waste
travel time in a session away from the office, can just phone
in, listen and participate, and then when they are done, get
back to work! Benefits
of teleclasses are: They
Save You Time They
Save You Money They
Make Training Easy and Convenient Please
let us know if you have ever been involved in a Teleclass, how
much you paid, what it was about, and what you thought of it,
through this link: teleclass@saleschampions.com.au And,
would you please include in that same email, the
topics you're interested in? For
example: Sales
Tips, Closing the Deal, Presenting to Clients, Negotiating
Skills, Building Rapport, Neuro Linguistic Programming,
Marketing, etc. [FIRSTNAME],
thanks in advance for your help.
